Chaga-Cacao Elixir

When I learn about the unique power of specific herbs to support our bodies and minds, I get to combine two of my loves: Nature and Health. My years of being a flower designer suddenly get to blend with my Holistic Nutrition & Wellness practice. The Earth offers us unique healing elements, we just need to know how to use them properly in order to reap their benefits.

So. I have been concocting some of my own potions with oils, herbs, mushrooms and adaptogens and feeling like a wizard :)

FYI: Adaptogen is a plant with natural properties that is used to help the body resist stressors of all kind- physical, chemical and biological- and have a physiological effect. They are amazing! (Stay tuned for a blog post dedicated to adaptogens soon.)

This Chaga Mushroom-Cacao Elixir I have experimented with will boost your immune system and lower inflammation, with the secret ingredient of Maca, (a root grown in Peru), which is an adaptogen used for balancing women’s hormones.

Here’s why this warm drink should be a go-to drink for you this Winter Season:

Chaga: The most powerful immune boosting, anti-inflammatory mushroom adaptogens are a go-to ingredient to use this FLU and COVID season (and all others!). You can buy chaga powder here

Maca: A root grown in Peru that has been used for centuries to help balance women’s hormones, as it can naturally help the body lower estrogen. I use Maca myself, and offer it to clients who are looking for relief in PMS and menopausal symptoms, mood imbalance due to hormone fluctuation, and as part of a plan to aid in overcoming PCOS. A MUST for women of all ages and stages of life. Buy Maca Powder here

Cacao: Packed with polyphenols to reduce inflammation, and a natural blood-sugar balancer, Cacao is a secret health weapon! You can buy Cacao powder here

Chaga- Cacoa Elixir:

Heat water and milk and add to powders. Mix well.

1.5 teaspoons chaga powder

1.5 tablespoons cacao powder

1 teaspoon maca powder

1 cup water

3/4 cup oat milk

dash of salt

optional dash of honey or maple syrup

You’ll love the way it feels to concoct your own superfood SUPER SIMPLE drink, while protecting and boosting your health. Warm, earthy and nourishing.

Yes, it is true Chaga tastes a tad like warm dirt, Cacao can be a bit bitter, and Maca has a little kick to it. However, I swear you can get to love this taste and with some creamy oat milk, a dash of salt, and a even tiny dash of honey, you’ll be looking forward to it in no time to warm you up!

PS- Here is a kids version of this recipe, which is like a healthy hot chocolate: Take out the Maca powder and add a bit more honey or maple syrup for sweetener and use whatever milk they like best.

ENJOY!
